Brussels Tourism

Brussels is adorned with some of the most beautiful monuments and attractions of the world. The spirited and lively atmosphere of the town makes it an ideal place for vacations. The picturesque surroundings or impressively built monuments add to its beauty. Among the various attractions, here are few:

Grand Place

Grand Place is the central market square of Brussels. Surrounded by guild houses, the city's Town Hall, and the Bread House, it is the most important tourist destination and most memorable landmark in Brussels. The Town Hall was constructed between 1402 and 1455.

Manneken-Pis

This is a small bronze fountain sculpture depicting a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. The costume of the statue is changed according to the occasions, according to a schedule managed by the non-profit association The Friends of Manneken-Pis, in ceremonies that are often accompanied by brass band music.

The Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of Brussels is the official palace of the King of the Belgians in the centre of the nation's capital Brussels. It is one of the most beautiful official buildings in the capital. From here the king exercises his authority as the Head of State. The Palace also includes the State Rooms where large receptions are held and it also provides the apartments for foreign Heads of State during official visits.

Atomium

Atomium is a monument which is 102-metres (335 ft) tall, with nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. Originally it was a temporary creation, but it became Belgian landmark and was recently reopened after extensive renovations.

Belvue Museum

The museum is about the national history of Belgium. The exhibitions in the twelve rooms explore the various periods of Belgium's history, like Belgian history, World War I and World War II.
